New Hazlett Theater
They are more than just a theater; they are an incubator for the arts. When Bootstrap Design Co. approached me to collaborate on the work they were designing for the upcoming Community Supported Art Season, I was all in. Our task was to come up with an interesting way to make portraits of each creator while allowing plenty of negative space for text and graphics.
I proposed the idea of a sort of reverse spotlight concept. In a world of Photoshop and AI, I find it most compelling to create images entirely in-camera. We crafted a large white board with a hole in the middle for each artist to stand in, changing the background color to match the final art design. This approach not only showcased each creator uniquely but also provided the necessary space for Bootstrap's text and graphics. The collaboration was a fantastic blend of creativity and practicality, resulting in striking visuals for the season.
